Pastor
Rev. Elizabeth Evans Hagan
Rev. Elizabeth Evans Hagan, Pastor
Elizabeth came to Washington Plaza in January 2009 with a variety of previous
experiences: ministry internships with children and youth in places such
as Charleston, SC, Lexington, KY and even in Jamaica and Mexico. She also
taught 5th grade in an inner city school for a period in Birmingham, AL.
Since 2003, she has served churches as an associate pastor in North Carolina,
Washington, DC and Maryland. Elizabeth graduated from Duke University in
2006 with a Masters in Divinty. As the senior pastor, she is passionate
about building a strong community of faith at Washington Plaza: people who
know and love each other well and that use their gifts and resources for
the good of God's purposes in the world. You will often hear her sharing
stories about her community of family and friends who she loves to have
new and fun experiences alongside.
And, you might find her making up her own words as Spelling was never her
favorite subject in school. When Elizabeth has free time, she loves movies
and keeping up with Duke basketball, hanging out with her very cool husband,
Kevin and planning her next trip with whoever wants to do something fun.
Elizabeth has journeyed to places like Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Burma, Thailand
and Argentina in the past several years and uses these trips to shape her
worldview and find opportunities for shared learning and service.
Elizabeth thinks that the Washington DC area is one of the most exciting
places to be and is thrilled to have this opportunity to serve this community!
Come worship with us at Washington Plaza in Reston, VA at 11 am anytime.
We'd love to meet you.
