Our main worship service is at 11 am on Sunday mornings. Our dress is causal. You are always welcome to come as you are. After worship, we'd like to invite you to stay for Coffee Hour in the Plaza Room downstairs. It is a lunch provided by cooking teams each week which gives members and visitors alike the opportunity to share in fellowship. We look forward to meeting you soon.
Stewardship Month : Coming Together, Giving Together,
Serving Together
It is important in the life of any church to take some time a part at least
once a year to re-examine where our priorities as individuals and as a corporate
body. This October, we'll do exact this in worship with the book of Philippians
as our guide. Known by many as Paul's letter of joy, Philippians will guide
us into Christ's ways of discipleship as we move together toward 2010.
Each Sunday during this month, you will not only hear from your pastor on
what stewardship in our community might look like for us but members of
our church who direct various ministries. You'll be hearing more about how
to get involved in everything from acts of service, to congregational care,
church administration and global involvement. Stewardship month will culminate
on October 25th as all members and friends of WPBC will be asked to pledge
their financial contributions to the church in the coming year.
Theme verse: "But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal . . . for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3: 13-14

September: BEING GOD's PEOPLE
For
September 13, 20, and 27th, we will be exploring the topic of what it means
to "Be God's People." Is being a Christian just about being nice
or might it be something more? If our lives are going to be lived in the
Christian tradition, then how might our actions reflect what we say we believe?
Using the wisdom of the Epistle of James, we'll take three
Sundays to explore some practical suggestions about how we as individuals
might form our daily habits in Godly ways. Like sitting in the kitchen of
a wise woman listening as she cooks, studying the book of James will fill
us with exhortations about how we speak, how we relate to others and how
we talk to God.
